As most were probably well-convinced that The Open Scroll had become a vacant lot in this wonderfully tragic webland in which we all reside, it is a true pleasure to release Issue 7. Though not to even bother with excuses (for I feel no guilt), I must say that in many ways The Open Scroll has become paralyzed with submissions. Comatose and without the impetus to rise. Interaction will always be the lifeblood of the web being.
And yet, content is its body. Content in its analagous form exists currently as billboards hollering to the passerby, intersections constipated with traffic, empty monuments dedicated to martyrs not yet dead and certainly not identified, banners flapping behind aeroplanes diving unmanned towards the rock below.
Demand perfection from all that surrounds you, and you destroy the goodness which should be recognized and revered. Allow imperfection to remain unchecked within every dark alley, and you will recognize goodness at the rare times when you can find it, as the dark alley becomes the path. The Open Scroll lay somewhere in between, awake and alive and pondering the day away.
As always, thanks for your submissions and opinions!
Regards,
Thom O'Connor
