The August 1995 Issue

Welcome to The August 1995 Issue of The Open Scroll

(affectionately entitled the issue of political disgust). I highly encourage you to participate, as explained below, in the public harassment (in an intellectual sense, of course) of our elected officials. As Oscar Wilde once noted,

Democracy means simply the bludgeoning of the people,
by the people, for the people.

All I can suggest is that each of you, the common sage, gets in her or his own admonishments to the head of the chosen mandarin before we all lay unconscious, as our social liberties are snatched away and traded in for a religiously imposed puritanical order, marching as to war.

Thom O'Connor
Editor, The Open Scroll

Stop!

Before you do anything else, email a brief form letter to either
the Pres or his court jester, the Newt. It is your voice, your opinion,
and your vote that just might wake up these harlequin elite.

(All apologies to readers from outside the United States who really couldn't give a damn about U.S. domestic politics, but you're welcome to get in on the fun, too. If someone can send me Prime Minister Chirac's email, the next issue will also include a nuclear nonproliferation agenda.)

A thousand emails from The Open Scroll just might get someone's attention!
(Though only email in braille can find the blind.)

And lastly, return next month for
The September 1995 Issue of Virtual Flag Burning,
as The Open Scroll continues its harangue
against the modus operandi.
