Two short guys and a tall mouse

1 Jimmy was tall, for a mouse. Which is why
he felt he was somewhat extraordinary. So
he wouldn't setle for just any old scraps
from the table.

His house was also inhabitted by two men.
Young men...to Jimmy, they were tall,
but he knew, comparing them to others, that
they were pretty short for humans. Their
names were Steve and Chris.

Jimmy decided it was his turn for the good life. People had it so easy, stomping around all the time, making as much noise as they wanted, playing vinyl records, eating figs in one bite... When would it be his turn to shine? He meditated, folding his little mouse legs, which were, of course, quite a bit longer than most mouse legs, but still not as long at Steve and Chris's. He asked the universe what he would need to do to get a nice juicy piece of pizza all for himself.
3
So Jimmy decided to get adventurous. Sneaking his long whiskers out of his door, he looked out for Steve and Chris. "Yep, there they are, drinking that BUD stuff again". Looking back at his other fellow mice, he shrugged and headed out into the twilight.

4 Jimmy snuck along the floor, keeping close to the base. He scuttled along the way that most mice do, but because of his size, it was rather awkward. With time he made his way to the phone table. he looked up at the imemense size of the table and pndered how he would get up there. The table wasn't really all that big, but mice are rather small. Like a bolt of lightning, Jimmy came to his ecision. He scurried back to his little mouse house in the wall and procurred his bit of string and a old paper clip. Carefully he bent the paper clip and tied it to the string. He remembered old episodes of Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers as he swung the string around and grappled the phone at the top. he gave it a little jerk to make sure that it was secured, and up he went. Jimmy was half way up the string when he felt the taughtness of it give way! He began to fall...
5 as he fell, Jimmy let out a squeak, which was heard by Steve and Chris. The two young men were horrified to see the rather large mouse lying unconscious on the floor. They picked Jimmy up, and brought him into their bedroom, and layed him on the bed. Chris sat with him, stroking the little gray head, while Steve picked up the phone that had fallen, and called an expert.

6 "Hello, Doctor Bombardio? It's Little Stevie... yes, yes, I'm fine. But we have a problem here. It's a mouse. Okay."
"What did he say?"
"He said he'd be over in a minute."
There was a knock at the kitchen door. Steve looked earnestly at Chris, then at the mouse. "Could you get it?"
"Yeah, just watch the mouse carefully, okay?"
"OF COURSE I WILL!" Steve hissed, angrily.
"Okay, man, just cool down..." Chris rose to his feet and walked out of the living room.
Steve heard the kitchen door open and a nasally voice echoed through the house, "Yes, Doctor Bambardio couldn't make it..."
"Damn!" cursed Steve. He gathered the mouse into his palm and ducked behind the couch.
He heard Chris begin to protest, then a sharp crack. Steve jumped over the couch and yanked the front door open. He heard the sound of heavy leather boots running across the kitchen floor as he ran out of his house with the mouse in his hand.
