1 I thought back to my childhood days
When I was young and free
Not a worry, not a care
No duties then to beckon meBright meadows bursting with bloom
Of lovely daffodils
Wild flowers blowing to the breeze
A purple sunset over the hills

Now I am old
Time pressing down
All my yesterdays
All my memories
Swirl about
Like the fish
In the cool pond
On hot summer days
I look at faded photographs
Remembering faces
Remembering places
The secluded wooden bridge
Where we kissed
In the soft summer rain
So sweet and tender
Like Mama's bread
On cold winter nights
The snow falling silently
Blanketing the earth
With shimmering fairy dust
I keep remembering those days,
Sweet carefree childhood days
Passionate days following
All the days flying
Until now...
As I sit in this rocker
Nothing to do but remember.
