leaves turn and wait
their turn to fall.
Falling into fall
we wait for the fall.
Counting on someone to catch us
is like begging for
summer’s warmth in winter.
When its done
a leaf changes color,
wish human were the same
so when they turned on us
we wouldn’t fall as hard.
Turning a new leaf
leaves us bare
of all the old foliage
shaken from tired branches
hoping we survive the fall.
Like the leaf
we should just fall
into our changing
colors of life
and strive
to survive.
