At times, writing about places and people we can only imagine
is like preaching a religion we don't even believe in. I applaud
your entry into such a place as depicted in the alley. I believe
you did a fine job of it and yet, why is it that I don't feel
the force of authenticity? Perhaps that's not necessary for a poem
to be considered real. I've been struggling with this in my own writing.
