A bold style to take on, an attractive list of short, reflective lines. Emotionally it just about works for me, I found this pretty touching. On first reading it seemed gushy and simplistic but it pans out on inspection. So I'm looking at what that might be. I don't get why the description stops halfway through, and moves from decay back to strong, apparently interrupting the chronology.
The upset and frustration comes across very powerfully.
