wakeing up from drugged sleep
glad to be alive
even pain is bearable
to see sun cracking the curtain
did not think this day would come
all shrouded in blood and some tears
pity stands patiently by
writing notes on her stone chart
This is so much better than not wakeing
it brings affirmations of being kinder
generous of time and rosy listening
promises, promises to remember
Tomorrow waits at the gate
a tall stranger holding a cup
to fill with well spent time
I have no complaints
