Pieces

As you walk away from us
although unwillingly
you will never truly leave
for we will always be with you.

Each time we have talked
you have learned, and from
that taken, bits and pieces
of us, along with you.

You did it without intention,
we did it because, you
were you, and you brought us
into your life, while there.

Some will miss you, while others
will be glad you are gone,
not because you are hated
but because they didn't know.

They will never know, what
those close, will always know
that there is more than
meets the eye, always.

You listened, you laughed,
even angered some of us,
but all along we knew
that you were there, when needed.

And that even though you
will be gone, you will still
be around, in case you
are needed once again.

That's why some of us
are lucky, you took the time
to consider us a friend,
and borrowed pieces of us.

The pieces that you take
with you, on your journey
to remember us by, when
you seem alone, or sad.

And you need something to
think about, that will remind
of the times we have spent
sharing pieces together.
