Quinn, I don't think a poem can be too choppy, too flowy, too stilted or too narrow, if it was written as a true expression of self. While problems begin to arise if a poet strains for the verse or struggles to sound profound, I see nothing wrong with your poem. If this is the form your experiences have taken, go with it. It doesn't matter what the critics say.
